Shannon Pawliw (she/her) is a Vancouver based artist working in conceptual painting and sculptural installation.

In 2002, she received a BFA with Distinction in Studio Art from Concordia University in Montreal. She spent the next 15 years building her graphic design agency, making art and raising her daughter. In 2019, she redoubled her focus on making art with the intention of expanding her artistic practice.

She has been long-listed for the Jackson’s Painting Prize in 2020 and 2021. She was the recipient of a Saskatchewan Arts Board Grant in 2006 and she received a DuMaurier Art Production Grant for her ongoing series entitled “An Archive of Lost Things”.  She is also the Artistic Director and founder of THIS Gallery, a Vancouver BC based brick-and-mortar arts space where artists and curators gather to engage with the community through exhibitions, workshops, and events.
