Collection: Laura Clark - Ephemeral Echoes

This solo exhibition of new, largely lens-based work by Vancouver artist Laura Clark, is a multimedia exhibition that explores the connection between personal grief and the natural phenomenon of phototropism. This exhibit is an intimate and personal journey through the healing process when confronted with loss. With the tactility of materials and text, Clark delves into the intricate dance of life and loss, where the memory and energy of a departed loved one persist like the inclination of plants toward the nurturing light of the sun as in phototropism. This exhibit is inspired by, and largely created, in a local Vancouver graveyard where the artist has captured images and sounds of life in the moment. It reflects on closeness, connection and what it feels like to be alive.
